If you’re reading this blog post, then we assume that you won’t disagree when we say that your penis is your most prized and revered — or at least one of your favorite — body part(s). If it wasn’t, then we wouldn’t go through all the trouble of providing you with all these male enhancement product reviews.

Since your penis is a source of great pleasure and your main tool for procreation, it’s not enough for you to take male enhancement supplements to keep it always ready for action. Having a sound male enhancement regimen is great but what’s the use of having rock-hard erections if your partner suddenly gets turned off because of poor outside maintenance? Here are some basic penis care tips that will complete your male enhancement efforts:

Genital Grooming for Gents

Washing the Wiener
Simply washing with warm water (but not too long because they can damage your swimmers) and mild soap or non soap-cleanser — like glycerine cream or sorbolene — is more than enough to keep your penis clean. Since your penis is sensitive, it’s not a good idea to use strong antibacterial soaps or disinfectants. If you’re uncut, slide the foreskin back and wash your exposed glans with warm water without using soap.

Washing your tool too frequently or too infrequently increases your risk of balanitis, the inflammation of the glans or penis. If this happens, avoid antibacterial and scented soaps or shower gels and use warm salt water instead. Visit your doctor if the irritation does not go away.

Manscaping Matters
Keeping your pubic area hairless has its benefits – it entices your partner to spend more time down there and makes your tool look bigger (which further boosts your male enhancement efforts). You can choose to just trim selected areas using an electric trimmer or scissors. Only use scissors if your hands are steady. Obviously, holding a sharp object near your favorite body part is not completely safe, and poor cutting technique can result in a scraggly, uneven look when the hair grows back.

You may choose to shave the hair off using a razor. Cut off the longer strands before you start shaving. Use a women’s razor halfway through a hot shower for best results. Shaving leaves your pubic area and jewels smooth to the touch. However, overdoing it can cause rashes and razor burns. The hair can be itchy as it grows back and you will need to shave again every two days to maintain your “manscape.”

Other options are electrolysis (permanent and painful), hair-removing creams (pain-free, temporary), laser (less painful but not helped to be permanent, and waxing (painful and non-permanent). These manscaping techniques are more convenient but not too friendly on your male enhancement budget. Whatever option you choose, make sure to maintain proper hygiene to prevent irritation and infection.
